- I believe that the pearl was not an evil or a good. The pearl was like a human in personality. We always want more than we can have and all the pearl seemed to want was to be were it was formed and came from.
The music of the pearl was, to me, was a mix of the song of the family and the song of the evil. The pearl represented evil, greed, hope and opportunity. The story shows that the pearl could be the best object in the world and the pearl could also kill out of greed. The pearl was a burden on Kino's family. They had to run for their lives to keep such a small object out of their own greed. To me, the pearl symbolized a human in a way it wanted to be the center of attention and the pearl was both good and evil, it was human.

Matthew said: i like the way you put you put the sentence together. you used much symbolizing for the pearl. you explained how kinos family was affected by the pearl.i don't see where you mentioned the symbolization with society unless the fact that you called it human was it. "The story shows that the pearl could be the best object in the world and the pearl could also kill out of greed." I found this as my favorite sentence because you say that the pearl has many faces. therefore i give you a 4 superior!
